From October 1978 to sometime when I sobered up (1979 or 1980 I think), I was part of an elite 50's show band. "Spun Gold" was originally named  "Solid Gold". What a disappointment when  the lawyer informed our owner, that name was not available. Since we had already received our sweaters with "SG" on them, "Solid" was changed to "Spun", and we hit the stage and the road with a vengeance.
